TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Beginning today dial-a-ride customers will have new vehicles and a new company offering service.

Total Transit, an Arizona transportation company will start offering service to Sun Shuttle dial-a-ride passengers.  They will also be operating Sun Shuttle's fixed-route service throughout Pima County.

The new vehicles are bright green and branded 'Discount Cab'.  Passengers will be riding in fuel efficient Toyota vehicles - the Prius and Sienna vans.

The new service is part of a three year contract with the Regional Transportation Authority, to offer transit service to individuals with disabilities. This is part of a more than $2 billion, 20 year plan by RTA that was approved by voters in May 2006.

All dial-a-ride trips require a reservation, to do so call - (520) 792-9222.  To find out how Sun Shuttle works go online to http://suntran.com/sunshuttle/shuttle-howtoride.htm
