TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Tucson Police detained a suspect in relation to arson at Speedway and Euclid early Saturday afternoon, according to TPD PIO Sgt. Chris Widmer.

At 12:57 p.m., Tucson Police received a call regarding a residential fire on the 800 block of E Speedway. Witnesses said they saw a man intentionally light a fire near the home. The fire then spread, reaching the home, which was occupied.

When Tucson Police and Tucson Fire arrived, citizens had already managed to extinguish the fire. TFD was able to determine that the fire was intentionally set.

Authorities began searching for the suspect. UAPD found the suspect at the corner of Speedway and Euclid. TPD Arson Detectives detained the man in relation to the fire.
