Wildfire burning at Redington Pass

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Fire crews are battling a wildfire at Redington Pass.

Officials said 125 acres have burned and about five crews are fighting the blaze.

A helicopter is assisting as well as three heavy air tankers.

    The San Juan Fire straddling the Fort Apache Indian Reservation and the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest in the White Mountains continues to expand, but so does containment.
    Crews are working to restore the 1,220 acres in the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest that were damaged by the San Juan Fire earlier this summer.

    The lightning caused wildfire, in the Rincon Mountains east of Tucson, has burned 1,097 acres according to National Park Service officials. It is now at 75 percent contained, said officials and out-of-state fire crews are leaving the wildfire area.
