BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

LSU wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. has been selected in the first round by the New York Giants.

The wide receiver was the 12th overall pick of this year's NFL draft.

Beckham finished his junior season at LSU with 2,315 all-purpose yards, setting a school record and finishing No. 2 in SEC single-season history.

In 2013, the junior wide receiver teamed with Jarvis Landry to become the first set of receivers in LSU history to go over 1,000-yards in the same season.

Beckham caught 59 passes for 1,152 yards and 8 touchdowns last year.
