TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

It is teacher appreciation week and everyone can remember a favorite teacher who taught them something they are thankful for.

Today some businesses around town are thanking teachers for their hard work in a special way.  Thousands of teachers around Southern Arizona help students get ready for the future every single day, but today is the day to thank the teachers who have done so much for their students.

McDonalds is one restaurant that is thanking educators with a free meal.

For those who are teachers or those who know a teacher let them know McDonalds is rolling out the red carpet for teachers today. From now until 8 p.m. teachers just have to show their school ID card and they will get a free meal.

In 2013 McDonalds in Arizona served more than 32,000 meals to educators on Teacher Appreciation Day.  Workers with McDonalds say it is the least they can do for teachers and all the hard work they do.

But the free stuff for teachers does not stop there.  Chipotle Mexican Grill is hooking teachers up with free food today as well.  Teachers just need to bring in a school ID card to any Chipotle around Tucson and they will offer a buy one get one free item of anything on the menu.
