Check out the grades for several Tucson hospitals

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

A new report ranked the top five states with the best hospitals, now is the chance to see the grades of hospitals here in Southern Arizona.

There were a total of 39 hospitals that were graded in Southern Arizona, five of those were in Tucson including Tucson Medical Center and one in Sierra Vista.

Carondelet St. Joseph's Hospital and Carondelet St. Mary's both received a 'C' both in 2014 and 2013.  The University of Arizona Medical Center South, the old Kino Hospital received a 'D' in 2014 and an 'F' in 2013. 

UAMC, University Campus received a 'C' in 2014 and in 2013 they received a 'D'. 

Sierra Vista Regional Health Center received an 'F' this year and a 'D' in 2013.  While the Tucson Medical Center received a 'C' both in 2014 and 2013. 

TMC released a statement about the scores.

"Over the last two years we have learned a lot about how the Leap-Frog scores are determined and we are committed to tracking our progress against that criteria," said Director of Communications, Alicia Moura.  "The CMS data they are using is at least 18 to 24 months old.  Using more current data we have seen significant improvement in the areas measured by Leap-Frog and we are confident that this will be reflected in our future grades."
