Pavement preservation causing delays in Vail

Posted: Updated:
TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Crews will work to preserve the pavement on a stretch of road in Vail in May.

Workers will crack seal the pavement of Pistol Hill Road between Colossal Cave Road and Old Spanish Trail.  They will also give the street a surface treatment.

This will take place each week, Monday through Thursday from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. through May 30, according to Pima County Department of Transportation officials.

The construction should close lanes in both directions, so expect significant delays. A pilot/flag car will guide drivers through the area.

This project's schedule could change based on weather or mechanical failure, PCDOT said.

Please travel carefully in the area and watch for construction workers and equipment.
