TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

A new report from an immigration reform group says the Tucson Border Patrol is a focal point for abuse complaints against agents.

Border Patrol documents obtained by the American Immigration Council list 809 abuse complaints between 2009 and 2012.

Approximately 40 percent of those are still open for investigation while 97 percent of the complaints have been decided, ending with "No action taken."

The report says the Tucson Sector has the highest rate of complaints per agent, although sectors in Texas had higher complaints based on the number of illegal immigrants caught.

The most complaints of any border patrol sector were filed in Tucson. Over three years, 279 abuse reports were filed against Tucson agents, which is 34.5% of the complaints against all Border Patrol sectors.

The documents say 78 percent of these cases are reported as "physical abuse" or "excessive use of force."
