School lockdown lifted, was prompted by nearby shooting incident

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

An east-side high school was put on lockdown briefly Wednesday afternoon as a precaution after a shooting incident in the neighborhood, police said.

The lockdown was lifted and students were released on time, according to a spokesman at the school.

According to Tucson Police, a man was shot in the parking lot of a Circle K at 8702 E. Speedway Blvd., near the Sahuaro High School campus at 545 N. Camino Seco.

Police were searching the area near the convenience store for a male suspect in the shooting.

Police said the male victim was shot in the arm. His condition has not been reported yet.
