TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Big congratulations are in order for three schools in Vail, as they are recognized by the Arizona Educational Foundation.

Today they will celebrate their accomplishments.

It was an intense application process for each of the winning schools, judges visited each school and looked at the following - student focus and support, school culture as well as community and parent involvement.  These were just a few of the criteria they looked at.

All three schools celebrating are in the Vail School District and they include - Octotillo Elementary School at 8 a.m.  According to school officials they received the A+ rating for its clean facilities, safety procedures and its special ed program.

The celebrating will continue with Senita Valley Elementary at 9:15 a.m. and finishing up with Vail Academy and High School on the UA Tech Park Campus at 12:15 p.m.
