Carey's time is now

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

All the years of hard work will culminate this weekend when Tucson native Ka'deem Carey gets selected in the NFL Draft.

Carey kept a low profile Thursday night at the home of a supporter while watching the first round of the National Football League's annual selection.

Carey is projected as a 3rd or 4th round pick so he was not expecting to hear his name called on opening night.

If UA's all-time leading rusher is indeed a 3rd round pick he will get that special call from an NFL team on Friday. If he falls lower he'll have to wait for the final three rounds (4-7) on Saturday.

CBSSports.com listed Carey as the 8th best running back in the draft. No running backs were taken in the first round.
