    Under the program, the city will choose several large intersections to become protected left. That means left turns would be made only on a green arrow.

SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Lane closures will slow drivers on State Route 83 near Sonoita on Tuesday and Thursday. 

Crews will close lanes on SR 83 from Greaterville Road to Big Thunder Road on Tuesday, May 13 and Thursday, May 15 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

They're chip sealing the highway, as well as performing other asphalt maintenance.

Drivers traveling in the area, can expect up to 20 minute delays, as workers will close lanes on both sides of the street.

Arizona Department of Transportation pilot cars will direct traffic through the construction area.

Officials want to remind the public to drive carefully in all construction zones and watch for people and equipment in the area.
