TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

TODAY'S MOST...Interesting bet: A high school senior made a bet with his art teacher to try to get out of taking his final exam. Andrew Muennink posted a picture on social media showing the handshake with the terms of the bet written on the blackboard: if he got 15,000 re-tweets, he wouldn't have to take his final exam.

Some national news organizations went with the story, and Muennick's tweet was re-tweeted thousands of times. However, the Round Rock Independent School District in Texas says the bet was never really a bet at all. The district spokeswoman said , "they (Muennink and the teacher) both maintained that it was a joke from the beginning."

The district also said, by law, all of the students must take the final exam.

Muennink says he will show up for the exam, but it seems like he didn't think it was a joke. He told USA today "I think it is not right for them to go back on their deal." I was serious. I don't want to take the final. I'm not very artistic and she grades us hard."

The district says the senior doesn't face any discipline for making the deal, and says the teacher is a jokester who's well liked.
