Drugs, wanted man located in Dundee traffic stop

DUNDEE, MI (Toledo News Now) -

Heroin, Ecstasy and drug paraphernalia were located in a Dundee traffic stop late Friday night.

According to the Dundee Police Department, the traffic stop was conducted on Rawson Street around 11 p.m. Friday. It is an area where numerous citizens have complained about speeding, according to police.

Officers stopped a 2008 Ford Edge for speeding near Rawson Street and Viking Drive.

The 28-year-old driver had an expired driver's license and her 22-year-old male passenger had warrants out of North Carolina, according to police.

Officers searched the vehicle and located heroin, ecstasy and syringes.

Both subjects, whose names have not yet been released, were transported to the Monroe County Jail on Felony drug possession charges.

They will be arraigned on Saturday.

    According to Rural/Metro officials, crews arrived at the scene to find that a house under renovation, was engulfed in flames. It took 24 firefighters and eight units a half hour to get the fire under control.
