Tucson Police hope for new leads on carjacking case

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Tucson Police are asking for the public's help in the search for a carjacking suspect.

According to Tucson Police the suspect allegedly shoplifted at a Walmart on Valencia, then took a cab to a Lowe's also on Valencia, where he stole more items.

The cab driver realized then what his passenger had been doing, according to TPD, he then refused to take the suspect any further.  That is when, says TPD officials, there was a fight and the suspect tried to take the cab.

The suspect eventually ran away, after the cab driver refused to give up his vehicle.

Both incidents happened in mid-December, 2013, but TPD officials are hoping to get some new leads on the case.

Tucson Police are asking anyone with information to please call 911 or 88-CRIME.
