Clay Aiken's opponent in NC primary dies after fall

Posted: Updated:

A man involved in a too-close-to-call race for Congress just died after a fall at his home.

Businessman Keith Crisco, 71, was in a heated Democratic primary contest against  former "American Idol" singer Clay Aiken.

Aiken led by about 400 votes, but some absentee ballots are still being counted.

The winner of the primary will face a Republican incumbent in November, but if Crisco comes out as the winner, Democratic party officials will have to determine who replaces him.
