NOGALES, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

A Mexican woman tried to get four pounds of methamphetimine across the border by strapping it to her body.  It didn't work.

Customs and Border Protection officers arrested Andrea Marie Moreno of Tucson Friday after pulling over a car for further inspection.  That's when they discovered the drugs, which are worth nearly $13,000.

Earlier, officers found 18 packages of drugs inside a car after a K-9 officer tipped them off. Officers found 18 packages of drugs inside a hidden compartment in the trunk.  Two contained nearly three pounds of heroin valued at $39,000.  The others had approximately 15 pounds of methamphetamine worth almost $45,000.  The driver, Geovanna Carrillo-Valencia of Mexico, is under arrest.
