Butler County Sheriff Richard Jones said agents with the Butler County Undercover Regional Narcotics (BURN) Task Force were "quite active" May 8.
In one day, undercover agents completed three separate investigations leading to four arrests, seized thousands of dollars worth of illegal drugs, a vehicle, a handgun and miscellaneous drug paraphernalia.
Around 12 a.m., agents conducted a search warrant at a residence on Gordon Smith Boulevard and arrested Keith Goldsmith, 35. He was charged with felony drug possession. Authorities seized three-fourths an ounce of crack cocaine, one-fourth an ounce of heroin, other drug paraphernalia items and a 2006 Dodge Charger.
Later the same day, a search warrant was conducted on Harvard Street at about 5 p.m. Jones said the search warrant netted approximately 4 ounces of "ICE" (Methamphetamine), a handgun and other drug paraphernalia items. Shawna N. Mason, 31, a resident of the address, was charged with multiple drug felonies.
BURN agents were notified that an inmate being released from the Butler County Jail that day had reportedly asked his mother to bring heroin when picking him up from jail.
Authorities said William E. Hoadley, 24, and his mother, Robin C. Kelley, 54, both of Mount Healthy, were arrested less than two minutes after he was released. Both were charged with felony drug possession and authorities seized approximately 1 gram of heroin, a syringe and other items.
