PIMA COUNTY, AZ ( Tucson News Now) -

Pima County road preservation will cause travel delays off and on through the beginning of June.

Crews will put a pavement treatment on Alvernon Way from Los Reales Road to Hughes Access Road between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. from Thursday, May 15 to Monday, May 19.

The work will mainly involve paving and grading this roadway.

Construction workers will also perform maintenance work on Contractors Way on the south side between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 7 and Sunday, June 8. This will happen between Ajo Way and Irvington Way.

Work here will also include milling, paving, grading and striping this street.

This leg of the project should be complete by June 20, 2014, according to Pima County Department of Transportation officials.

Expect extra drive time in these areas due to this construction.

Always drive carefully in all work zones and watch for people and equipment in the area.
