TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

A car accident involving an intoxicated driver ended in one death early Saturday morning, according to Tucson Police Department PIO Chris Widmer.

Jean P. Villena-Celis, 21, was driving westbound on Roger in a Dodge Charger around 2:30 a.m. He was driving at a high rate of speed and crashed into a 1991 Volkswagen 4-door, which veered off onto the shoulder on the north side of the street. The driver of the Volkswagen was identified as 63-year-old Juan Lorenzo Avila-Arce. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

Villena-Celis continued westbound in his vehicle, losing control and spinning off onto the side of the road at Fremont Avenue. Officers noticed signs of intoxication and conducted a DUI investigation.
