TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Desert Christian beat Pusch Ridge Saturday 4-2 in Goodyear to win their second consecutive Division IV High School Baseball Championship.

The Eagles, who circled the wagons after the sudden death of assistant coach Ryan Hanson in April, won their 22nd game in a row behind the strong pitching of Zack Malis.

It was the third time DC beat the Lions this season.

Saturday night in Surprise, Palo Verde won their first ever state title, taking the Division III crown with a 5-4 victory over Phoenix Northwest Christian.

The Titans finished the season 26-4, winning their last five games.
