RALEIGH, N.C. -

Raleigh police said one man is listed in serious condition after being stabbed early Sunday at the Paradise Hookah Lounge.

A confrontation occurred between security guard Earl George Carroll Jr. and Michael Vincent Ciriello around 2:30 a.m. at the hookah lounge located in the 3600 block of Capital Boulevard, police said. Police said Ciriello stabbed Carroll in the torso during the incident.

Carroll, 43, was transported to WakeMed where he is listed in serious condition.

Ciriello, 20, was detained by another security guard at the lounge, according to Raleigh police.

He was taken into custody by Raleigh police and charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury. Ciriello was taken to the Wake County Detention Center.
