SPRINGFIELD TOWNSHIP, OH (Toledo News Now) -

A man charged with stabbing an elderly woman to death last week will face a judge again Monday.

Adam Akers is accused of fatally stabbing 72-year-old Judy Uyttenhove in her home at the Royal Village Mobile Home Park on Dorr Street in Springfield Township on Wednesday. According to the Lucas County Coroner's Office, Uyttenhove was stabbed 13 times, mainly in the chest and some on the side.

Akers, who had been living with the victim for the past six weeks, was arrested Thursday morning after being interviewed Wednesday night. He has been charged with murder.

On Friday, Akers did not have a lawyer and asked for a public defender. The judge continued his arraignment for Monday.

Akers' bond has been set at $1 million.

We'll be in the courtroom and bring you more details in this case as soon as we have them.
