TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - Pima County's Taking Action Against Graffiti Program invites youth ages 9 to 18 to submit artwork against graffiti for posters that will be placed across Pima County.

All entries must be submitted by 5 p.m. on Friday, May 30, according to Julie C. Simon, TAAG program coordinator.

The contest is meant to educate the community on the negative impact of graffiti. Requirements for artwork include:

- Each person can submit only one piece of artwork

- Work must be appropriate for all ages and can't contain profanity or obscenities

- No submitted artwork will be returned

- Artwork will be judged on creativity, originality, visual impact and communication on the impact of graffiti in the community

A panel of four Pima County staff will select five finalists between five age groups. The winner will be selected by three community leaders.  First place will be awarded a $100 gift card and their design will be used on TAAG posters. The four runners-up will receive a $25 gift card.

Anyone interested in more information can visit the TAAG website (hyperlink) or call Julie C. Simon at (520) 724-6566.
