Summer meal programs in Tucson

Sunnyside Unified School District -

The district will be participating in the Summer Food Service Program for children. Select schools in the district will provide nutritious meals to children 18 years and younger, while school is not in session this summer.

The program offers free breakfast and lunch from May 27 to July 25.  The program will be closed on July 3 and 4 in observance of Independence Day.

Breakfast and lunch will be served at the following times and locations -

Breakfast from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. and lunch from 11:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

-San Xavier Ed. Center - 1960 Wa:k Lane

-Littletown Recreation Center - 6465 S Craycroft Rd.

-Rivera Elementary - 5102 S. Cherry Ave.

-Ocotillo Elementary - 5702 S. Campbell Ave.

-Cherry Avenue Rec Center - 5085 S. Cherry Ave.–July Only

-Elvira Elementary - 250 W. Elvira Rd.

-Boys & Girls Club - 5901 S Santa Clara Rd. (breakfast will be served from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., but lunch remains the same.)

Breakfast will be served from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. and lunch will be served from 10:30 a.m. to noon daily at the following schools:

-Sunnyside High School - 1725 E. Bilby Rd.

-Desert View High School - 4101 E. Valencia Rd.

Sites will be subject to closure if participation falls below required levels to operate the Summer Program.

 

Amphitheater Public School District - Unless otherwise listed free breakfast will be served at the following locations from 7:30 a.m. to 8 a.m. and free lunch will be served from noon to 12:30 p.m. Monday to Thursday.  

-Amphitheater High School (125 W. Yavapai) from June 2 to July 10.  (Lunch will be served from 11:30 a.m. to noon.)

-Amphitheater Middle School (315 E. Prince) from June 2 to July 3.

-La Cima Middle School (5600 N. La Canada Dr.) from June 2 to July 3.

-Donaldson Elementary School (2040 W. Omar Dr.) from June 2 to July 3.

-Keeling Elementary School (2837 N. Los Altos Ave.) from June 2 to July 3.

-Prince Elementary School (125 E. Prince Rd.) from June 2 to July 3.

-Walker Elementary School (1750 W. Roller Coaster Rd.) from June 2 to July 3.

The following locations will serve breakfast from 8 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. and lunch from 12:30 p.m. to 1 p.m.

-Holaway Elementary School (3500 N. Cherry Ave.) from June 2 to July 3.

-Nash Elementary School (515 W. Kelso St.) from June 2 to July 3.

-Rio Vista Elementary School (1351 E. Limberlost Rd.)

 

Tucson Unified School District Food Services Department will sponsor a Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) beginning Monday, June 2, and ending Friday, June 27

The Marana Unified School District Food Services Department is working to make sure that no children in the community go hungry when school is out, and beginning June 2, 2014 expects to serve over 12,000 free meals through the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Summer Food Service Program.

In accordance with all USDA rules and regulations, breakfast and lunch meals will be provided to all children, under age 18, without charge and are the same for all children regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability. Enrollment in a MUSD school is not required. 

-Butterfield Elementary Cafeteria (3400 W. Massingale Rd.; Tucson, AZ. 85741) June 2 – June 27 (Monday-Friday) - Breakfast: 7:40 – 8:30 a.m.; Lunch: 11:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

-Desert Winds Elementary Cafeteria (12675 W. Rudasill Rd.; Tucson, AZ. 85743) June 2 – June 26 (Monday-Thursday) - Breakfast: 7:30 – 8:30 a.m.; Lunch: 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

-Estes Elementary Cafeteria (11280 W. Grier Rd.; Marana, AZ 85653) June 2 – June 26 (Monday-Thursday) - Breakfast: 7:40 – 8:30 a.m.; Lunch: 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

-Marana Middle Cafeteria (11285 W. Grier Rd.; Marana, AZ 85653) June 2 – June 12 (Monday-Thursday) - Breakfast: 7:50 – 8:30 a.m.; Lunch: 11:10 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

The Summer Food Service Program for Children is a federally funded program operated nationally by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and administered by the Marana Unified School District and other agencies. Marana Unified School District qualifies for this program by having a high percentage of families that fall within the free and reduced income standards.
