TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

The results from the Sunnyside School District recall elections are in and two board members are out.

There has been a lot of controversy surrounding this recall election.

It was a landslide win for the new school board member elects who will be taking over for the two members just voted out.

Rebecca Quintero will take over the seat held by Bobby Garcia; Quintero took 58 percent of the vote to Garcia's 22 percent.  Also being replaced is Louie Gonzales, by Eric Griffin, who won 74 percent of the vote.

Gonzales and Garcia were the two members that residents in the Sunnyside District wanted removed, stating the two created a culture of fear and intimidation among the teachers and the staff.

The new board members will be coming in to office, just as more uncertainty with leadership within the Sunnyside District.  Last week Superintendent Dr. Manuel Isquierdo broke down at the school board meeting, asking the board to buy him out of his contract.

New board member Eric Griffin says the only way that will happen is if it is before he and his new board member are stated to the board.
