Pinal County man facing charges of sexual abuse

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

An Arizona City man is in the Pinal County Jail today, after an investigation into alleged child molestation and sexual abuse charges, according to a Pinal County Sheriff's Office.

Manuel H. Martinez is facing one count of child molestation and three counts of sexual abuse in Pinal County, after a PCSO investigation into allegations from two of his victims.

The investigation began back in February 2014, after the parents of two victims spoke with the Tucson Police about their daughters being molested by Martinez. According to the release the incidents happened in both Arizona (in Tucson and Arizona City, in Pinal County) and Mexico, and began when the victims were 10 and 12 years old.  The parents confronted Martinez about the incidents and he allegedly admitted to molesting the victims.

In March 2014, the allegations were reported to the Pinal County Sheriff's Office and an investigation was initiated, said the release. PCSO investigators cited probable cause to arrest Martinez for the alleged crimes in Arizona City.  He was arrested on May 15 and booked into the Pinal County Jail on the four charges, all are classified as dangerous crimes against children, due to the fact that both were under the age of 15 at the time of the incident.

According to the release, he faces similar allegations in Tucson and pending charges in Pima County.
