Wildfire near Elgin now fully contained

ELGIN, AZ (CBS5) -

A wildfire near Elgin dubbed the Research Fire is now 100 percent contained after devouring 816 acres, officials said.

The fire, which began Wednesday at 12:30 p.m., has burned one power line and a vehicle in the area of the Sonoita- Elgin Fire Department district.

The fire is now being monitored and its cause is under investigation.

The wildfire is three miles southeast of Elgin.
