TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

The Green Valley Denny's restaurant off Nogales Highway has been temporarily closed after a car crashed into the building Sunday, according to Sahuarita Police PIO Phil Steel.

The incident occurred after an elderly woman driver accidentally stepped down on the gas pedal instead of the brake pedal, accelerating forward towards the building, Steel said.

Her vehicle jumped the curb and struck the side of the restaurant. No one was hurt.

The restaurant has been closed temporarily due to the incident. Sahuarita Police remain on the scene. The town building inspector is heading to the area to assess the damage.

It is not yet known when the restaurant will reopen.
