Marana Police still searching for suspects in driver attack

MARANA, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

The search is on Tuesday morning for a suspects thought to be involved in an attack in Marana on Monday.  It all started in a store plaza near Cortaro and I-10. 

A fired employee of a cab company allegedly attacked a cab driver, in front of an O'Reilly Auto Parts store on the northwest side. 

According to the cab driver he was attacked by a driver he had just fired, he met up with the fired employee to go over some paperwork.  It was during this meeting that he was attacked by the fired driver and his friends. The victim said a rock was thrown through the cab's window in the parking lot of the auto parts store.  They then chased the cab down Silverbell Road, at speeds that were over 70 miles per hour. 

The victim swerved and hit a parked car and damaged the front bumper of his cab. 

Marana Police say one of their officers saw the incident and called for back-up.  Police officials say that the suspects pointed a gun at the cab driver but he was able to escape, the suspects then fled on foot from the scene. 

One of the suspects was later caught by Marana Police, but they are still actively searching for the two remaining suspects.
