2 suspects take plea deal in 2013 Waterville murder

TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -

Two men accused of murdering a local businessman were set to go on trial Monday morning, but ended up taking plea deals instead.

James and Phillip Allen are two of four men accused of killing James Safadi in his Waterville home back in May 2013. Safadi's girlfriend told officials three males broke into their home, stealing an undisclosed amount of money and a ring off her finger. According to a source close to the investigation, seven handguns were also stolen, along with a large amount of ammunition.

Jury selection was set to begin Monday but late Friday, the pair pled guilty to complicity to aggravated murder. They will both be sentenced on Wednesday.

Adam Anderson and Ronald Rooker already took plea deals in the case.

    The Tucson Police Department is asking for the public's help locating 17-year-old Anthony Garcia. The teen is described as Hispanic, 5'10" tall, weighing 150 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. Although he is in his late teens, according to the release, he has special needs and functions at a much younger age.
