TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

More than $1.6 million in marijuana was found hidden inside the false bed of a trailer, attached to a truck with fake Fish and Wildlife decals, according to a recent Customs and Border Protection release.

The truck and trailer were discovered next to the international border fence outside Douglas, Arizona.

Agents, working east of town, were responding to reports about suspected smuggling in the area when they found the fake truck and trailer.  According to the release the CBP agents attempted to speak with the driver of the vehicle, but the truck stopped and both the driver and passenger abandoned the vehicle and were seen heading south into Mexico.

A search of the truck and trailer by CBP agents finds 3,200 pounds of marijuana hidden in various compartments.

Both the vehicle and drugs were seized for processing, said the release.
