    The Towns of Oro Valley and Marana, as well as Golder Ranch Fire District are offering free sandbags to residents who need to protect their homes. According Oro Valley and Marana officials, a limited number of sandbags are available to residents of both towns; residents within the Golder Ranch Fire District service area are also eligible.

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Tucson Fire Department crews took about 45 minutes to extinguish a brush fire near a preschool on the south side Wednesday afternoon.

According to a TFD spokesman, the fire was burning in a wash north of the school in the 5700 block of South Campbell Avenue, near East Drexel Road.

Firefighters say the fire started at about 3:30 p.m. and did not affect any structures in the area, despite its proximity to the Ocotillo Early Childhood Center at 5702 S. Campbell Ave.
