A Cuyahoga County Grand Jury will consider felony charges against a driver for plowing into a group of motorcycles as police say she looked down at her phone.
Investigators say they just analyzed that phone with the help of Cuyahoga County prosecutors. They found the driver was not texting, but doing some activity with the phone. Police won't say yet what that was.
Last month in Valley View, a van plowed into a group of motorcycles stopped at a light. Seven people on four motorcycles were hurt.
A grand jury will decide if whatever the van driver did with the phone was reckless. It could result in felony charges.
The crash report shows that driver going 25 mph or less. But bad things happen on the road in seconds.
The van driver was 42-year-old Kary Myles. She's already paid a simple traffic ticket for the incident.
"No comment. It's been done. We're done. I had my court date," said Myles, during a phone call.
Maybe not. John Cosic was one of the victims.
"One of the first things she said when she got out at the scene, she looked down at her phone. I can't repeat what we said," said Cosic.
