MH370 search area may shift

Posted: Updated:

(CNN) - It looks like the search area for Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 is about to shift again.

Investigators are revising some of their basic calculations about the jet, which has been missing for three months.

Officials say the shift reflects uncertainties about the plane's exact speed, flight path and altitude.

The new zone could be revealed in weeks, but the search probably won't be launched until late summer.

The plane disappeared on March 8 with 239 aboard, after taking off from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, en route to Beijing.
