A person with a gun was taken into custody during the evacuation process after a shooting at Reynolds High School on Tuesday.
Police said the person taken into custody is not believed to be associated with the shooter or connected to the shooting.
Police said the shooter acted alone.
Investigators have not identified the person with a gun taken into custody or revealed whether it was a student. It's also not clear if that person will face criminal charges.
Following the evacuation, police were seen investigating piles of backpacks. The Reynolds School District will be handling the release of personal property found at the scene back to students and staff.
Items can be collected between 6:30-8:30 p.m. Tuesday at Reynolds Middle School, 1200 N.E. 201st Ave. in Fairview, in the gymnasium. People are asked to use the north gym entrance adjacent to Reynolds Learning Academy.
Cars parked at Reynolds were not expected to be released to the owners until at least Wednesday, authorities said during a news conference.
