Lanes closed after incident with manhole cover

AUGUSTA, GA (WFXG) -

The Richmond County Sheriff's Office is detouring traffic in Downtown Augusta after a manhole cover blew off.

Sgt. Shane McDaniel said the detour is impacting the south side of the eastbound lanes of Greene Street and 10th Street.

Augusta Fire Department is responding to the scene, according to McDaniel, and is investigating.
