TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Downtown drivers will encounter delays this week, due to a construction closure.

Tucson Department of Transportation crews will shut down the 6th Avenue Underpass from Monday, June 16 through Friday, June 20 for repainting preparation.

The road will close daily from 7 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. to cars, bicyclists and even pedestrians.

While this roadwork takes place, 7th Avenue or Stone Avenue are good alternates to take instead of 6th Avenue.
