A Hamilton man was taken into custody Wednesday after police said he shot and killed his 29-year-old daughter and another man inside his home.
Police sent out an alert regarding the search for 55-year-old Alfred I. Rutherford early Wednesday. Officers found Rutherford's daughter, Lacey, and a male victim gunned down just after 2:30 a.m. at Alfred Rutherford's home in the 2700 block of Hilda Avenue. The man's identity hasn't been released pending notification of relatives.
Police charged Alfred Rutherford with two counts of murder and one count of obstruction of official business. He will be arraigned Thursday morning in Hamilton Municipal Court.
Rutherford's wife called 911 and said that he shot their daughter with a shotgun and then left the house. She told the operator that she didn't know where he was going.

Police said Rutherford's 29-year-old daughter Lacey lived at the Hilda Avenue home with them.
