TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Improvements will take place on the southwest side this week, as contractors work to overlay Irvington Road.

From Thursday, June 19 to June 26, crews will repair Irvington Road between Cactus Wren Avenue and Mission Road daily from 5 a.m. to 6 p.m.

They will perform overlay work, which includes the patching of pot holes and the replacing of asphalt in the area.

Lane restrictions will be in place as this work continues, so plan for extra travel time.

Drivers can use Valencia Road or Ajo Way as alternates to Irvington Road.

Please approach all construction zones with caution. Slow down and watch for people and equipment.
