TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - Motorists can expect delays along Thornydale Road at the end of the month.

Construction along Thornydale Road between Vista Ranch Place and Tangerine Road will begin June 30, between 6 a.m. and 4 p.m.

The construction is part of a Tucson Water project to install a reclaimed water main from the Thornydale Road Reclaim Booster Station to Moore Road and the crossing of the Thornydale and Tangerine Intersection, according to a Marana Traffic Alert news release.

For approximately two weeks, beginning July 7, construction crews will work between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m. to install piping along the roadway. Thornydale Road between Vista Ranch Place and Tangerine Road will be limited to alternating one-way traffic. Flaggers will guide motorists during this time.

Marana traffic alert officials encourage motorists to expect delays or seek alternate routes during construction. They also ask for motorists to follow all traffic control signs.

If the weather becomes severe, officials said construction dates will change without notice.
