TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Officers with the Tucson Police Department responded to a pedestrian hit by a car Monday night on Stone Avenue just north of Glenn Street.

At the scene, Sergeant Cross said the man who was hit appeared to have potentially life-threatening injuries. He said witnesses claimed the man practically ran into the street and was hit by a car.

David Segumi, who lives nearby, said he heard the impact.

"It was loud, and it's not something you like to hear," he said.

No drugs or alcohol were involved in the accident, according to Cross. He said charges will more than likely not be filed.
