A northern Arizona company started by two elite firefighters has carved a niche making sure homes are safe from fire danger.
The Daily Courier reports that Arrow Fire Support Services has been working nonstop since April to clear brush and fire fuels around various homes.
David Bowden, who was a Pleasant Valley Hotshot, and Matthew Gesser, a current Mesa Hotshot, started the company.
Bowden says last year's Yarnell Hill Fire and more recent wildfires have made people more pro-active about making sure their property isn't at risk.
The company typically does a free assessment with the homeowner of the house. Then they negotiate over what needs to be taken down.
They focus on Prescott Valley and surrounding cities.
Jobs have ranged from small homes to multi-acre properties.
