Tucson Modern Streetcar weeks away from operating

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Starting July 25, riders will get their first chance to ride the Tucson Modern Streetcar, but there is still plenty of training happening before it starts to operate around town.

SunLink workers started to operate the streetcars on Tuesday on its normal schedule that it will use once it starts picking up passengers next month.

Now six streetcars are operating around town to make sure operators will be able to pick up passengers at stops every 10 minutes during the weekday.

Additionally, the training is being used to make sure the system will be able to run all six cars at the same time.

It will cost $4 for an all-day pass to ride the Tucson Modern Streetcar when it starts to operate next month.
