TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Nick Johnson has heard his name called by the NBA.

The Arizona Wildcats 2014 product was drafted Thursday night as the 42nd pick by the Houston Rockets in the 2nd round.

He's the 13th UA underclassmen to leave school early for the NBA Draft and be selected. Johnson joins Aaron Gordon as the 66th and 67th Arizona Wildcats players taken in the annual selection process since 1948. There have been 18 occasions on which at least two Arizona players have been drafted in the same year, including 11 times since 1988.

The Gilbert-native this past season became the 7th UA player to earn Pac-12 Player of the Year honors. He finished his career ranked 24th on UA's scoring list with 1,333 points. He averaged 12 points per game in his career and 16 as a junior.
