TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - Sierra Vista ranks third in Arizona for 'most livable cities', according to a recent study from online financial planning tool Credit Donkey, with Lake Havasu (#1) and Sedona (#2) filling out the top three.

Officials used mixed criteria that included time of commute, income, education in addition to violent crime and restaurants per capita.  Sierra Vista ranked first in income with the highest average at $56,433 and second for most residents with a college education at 28.5 percent, they were edged out of the top spot by Sedona by only three percent points.

“Staying safe is of paramount importance, especially if you have children,” said the article, which was written by a financial journalist based in North Carolina. “We only looked at cities that scored the best marks in terms of their crime rate.” The article said the odds of being a victim of violent crime in Sierra Vista were only one in 359, while tenth-ranked Flagstaff was at one in 254.
