TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - Tucson travelers could see some traffic trouble as pavement improvement begins on the southwest side this week.

Pima County Department of Transportation and Southern Arizona Paving started work on Los Reales Road Monday, between Mission Road and Sorrel Lane. The construction should wrap up in approximately five weeks.

Crews will improve the intersections in the area and complete asphalt overlay, which is a partial road reconstruction. This is a cheaper, faster alternative to full re paving.

Expect driving delays if you normally travel in this area.

Always slow down in construction zones and watch for people and equipment in the area.

Construction schedules can always change depending on mechanical failure or weather changes.
