TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - Horse racing will continue at Rillito Downs for at least three more years.

Today the county approved a one year guaranteed lease with an option of two more years.

There had been some concern that racing may end at the track after a half century because the county wanted to convert it to a tournament soccer facility.

Because the county has found other property for soccer, it took some pressure off of Rillito horse racing supporters.

The rent will be $14,000 per season.
