COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) -

Columbia property owners filed an eviction notice against Jadeveon Clowney and his mother Josenna this week, according to court records.

Landmark Resources, LLC, who own Carolina Walk condos on South Stadium Road, filed a rule to vacate civil complaint on June 30, court records show.

According to South Carolina law, a landlord may bring an action of ejectment against a tenant when the tenant fails or refuses to pay the rent when due, when the term of tenancy or occupancy ends or when the terms or conditions of the lease are violated.

It's not clear why the property owners want to evict Clowney.

Clowney, who was the No. 1 overall pick in this year's NFL draft by the Houston Texans, is still recovering from sports hernia surgery.

Clowney told HoustonTexans.com rehab and recovery is a day by day process.

Landmark Resources, LLC, meanwhile, says the entire matter was cleared up Wednesday afternoon and a magistrate dismissed the claim on Thursday.

Dylan Thompson threw for three touchdowns and No. 24 South Carolina's maligned defense stood strong on a fourth-quarter goal line stand to topple No. 6 Georgia 38-35 on Saturday night.
No. 24 South Carolina's defense showed it's not nearly as bad as it looked two weeks ago - and maybe that No. 6 Georgia isn't the runaway favorite in the Southeastern Conference Eastern Division.

Georgia can establish itself as a top-tier beast if it gets by South Carolina this weekend - and USC would drop to 0-2 in the league with a loss. Tennessee travels to Oklahoma, where Coach Bob Stoops doesn't believe the SEC is all-powerful.
