TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - Authorities have charged a man with murder after they found a body in an abandoned well in the Three Points area.

Deputies made the discovery Wednesday on Sierrita Mountain Road and West Phillips Road, about 45 minutes southwest of Tucson.

They say they were searching the area for a missing person when they found the man in the well about 25 feet down. Homicide detectives identified the victim as 75-year-old William Sattler, who died from a single gunshot wound to the stomach, according to the Pima County Sheriff's Department.

Donald Stewart, 51, was taken into custody for questioning, and was later booked on one count of first degree murder.

Anyone with information about this incident is urged to call 911 or 88-CRIME.
